I used to drive a SUV like most North Americans do. Last summer, I decided to buy a much smaller model sedan. I found it saved so much gas compare with the other car I have. When we travelled in Europe during the summer, we rented a Volkswagen 1.6 Diesel. We drove about 5,000 km and for the most of the time, it was fully loaded with all the luggage. And it was fine. This makes me wonder why we need big cars in our every lives. Like most Europeans, they drive small or tiny cars and they survive OK.
I have a friend who has just moved back to the States. She decided to move back to China before the summer, so she shipped all her clothes to China. Now she has to move back again with all her stuff floating on the sea back to China. She only carried some basic clothes with her for the whole summer, and she turned out ok. One day she said to me: "May be we do not need that much stuff we own in our lives". What do you think? Do we have too much?
